A background in art and a fascination for the natural world steered Steffie Padmos towards a Master’s Degree in Scientific Illustration in the footsteps of tradional scientific illustrators and naturalists as Maria Sybilla Merian and Ernst Haeckel. Her evolution as an artist is evident as she explores a more contemporary approach that maintains it’s reverence for scientific subject matter. Steffie loves how her work creates opportunities to reveal the aesthetic details of the natural world and hopes to evoke in viewers a deeper appreciation for our planet and it’s inhabitants.
