A background in art and a fascination for the natural world steered Steffie Padmos towards a Master’s Degree in Scientific Illustration in the footsteps of traditional scientific illustrators and naturalists as Maria Sybilla Merian and Ernst Haeckel. Her evolution as an artist is evident as she explores a more contemporary approach that maintains its reverence for scientific subject matter. Her work communicates biological subjects as well as human interest and culture.
